Jose Manuel Gamiz De Leon, a 26-year-old man from Woodland Hills, California, tragically lost his life on April 26, 2020, in Panorama City. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Blythe Street, near Van Nuys Boulevard. According to reports, Jose was sitting in his vehicle when two cars, a blue PT Cruiser and a tan Cadillac, approached him. An occupant from the PT Cruiser fired multiple rounds from a handgun, striking Jose. Despite being rushed to the hospital by a friend, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has indicated that the shooting was gang-related. Surveillance footage captured the two suspect vehicles approaching Jose's car before the shooting. However, the police have not released the video or images to the public. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting, heading towards Van Nuys Boulevard.
As of now, the LAPD is actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects involved in this fatal shooting.
