On June 30, 2020, Braulio Chavarin, a 33-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. in the 400 block of Adair Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Chavarin lying near the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso. Despite the prompt arrival of Long Beach Fire personnel, Chavarin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation revealed that the suspect fled on foot toward Linden Avenue immediately after the shooting. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
The Long Beach Police Department has been actively seeking information from the public to aid in solving this case. Detectives Oscar Valenzuela and Eric Thai have been assigned to the case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
