Rafael Baez, a 29-year-old Latino male, tragically lost his life on January 9, 2021, in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records, Baez was shot near 703 N. Fickett Street. The incident occurred in the evening, and Baez was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting also left two other individuals critically injured—a 27-year-old female and a 25-year-old male—who were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
