Rafael Vargas Chavez, a 40-year-old resident of Corning, California, tragically lost his life on June 8, 2021, in Orland, CA. Chavez was visiting a relative at a residence on County Road 20 when several unidentified individuals arrived on the property. An altercation ensued, during which Chavez was fatally shot. Despite attempts to flee the scene, he collapsed approximately 30 yards away and was pronounced dead by first responders who had exhausted all life-saving measures.
