Ashley Qualls, a 25-year-old social worker, was tragically shot and killed on July 9, 2013, in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans. She was returning home from work when she was approached by three juveniles on bicycles who attempted to rob her. The incident occurred near the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and North Roman Street.
