In the early morning hours of a Thursday in January 2014, the life of a young man was cut short on a street in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans. Henry Collins Jr., a 21-year-old African American male, was found shot to death on January 9, 2014. The New Orleans Police Department was called to the 1700 block of Pauger Street, where they discovered Collins's body lying on the sidewalk, having sustained at least one gunshot wound.
