Michael Green, a 36-year-old Black/African American man, was a devoted father of three who was looking forward to a family barbecue on the evening of September 5, 2014. That afternoon, he was on a sidewalk in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans when his life was tragically cut short. An unknown assailant approached and opened fire, striking Green multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
