Tommie Timmons, aged 55, was tragically shot and killed on September 3, 2022, in Sacramento, California. The incident occurred at the intersection of Trade Wind Avenue and Fulton Avenue around 11 p.m. Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a man shot inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found Timmons with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office immediately launched a homicide investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for this violent crime.
The investigation quickly identified 18-year-old Josiah Isaac Dempsey as the primary suspect in the murder of Tommie Timmons. Dempsey, described as a black male, approximately 5’8” tall and weighing around 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, was considered armed and dangerous. An active homicide arrest warrant was issued for Dempsey, and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office sought the public's assistance in locating him. Additionally, 27-year-old Michaela Jalizah Gospel was identified as a person of interest in the case. Gospel, who also had an unrelated felony arrest warrant, was described as a black female, approximately 5’2” tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and a tattoo of the letter "T" on her right collarbone.
The community was urged to provide any information that could lead to the apprehension of Dempsey and Gospel. The Sheriff's Office emphasized the importance of not approaching Dempsey due to his dangerous status and instead advised anyone with information to contact law enforcement immediately. The investigation into Timmons' death continued as authorities worked to gather more evidence and bring those responsible to justice.
