Joshua Daniel Garcia, a 20-year-old resident of Fresno, was charged with murder and attempted murder, along with enhancements for the personal and intentional discharge of a firearm causing great bodily injury or death. Garcia was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail, where he faced the possibility of 75 years to life in state prison if convicted of all charges.
Additionally, Jace Ramirez, also 20 years old and from Fresno, was charged with being an accessory after the fact. Ramirez was arrested on June 28, 2024, and subsequently bonded out of custody. Both suspects were scheduled for arraignment in the Fresno County Superior Court in July 2024. The arrests marked a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice for Angel Zuniga and his family, who had been seeking answers and accountability for nearly two years.
