Margaret Lawrence, a prominent Broadway actress, was tragically found dead on June 9, 1929, in her Manhattan apartment. The discovery was made by her close friend, Mrs. Gertrude Chalaire, who entered the apartment after becoming concerned when Lawrence failed to answer her phone calls.
