Deputy William M. Dillemuth, a 23-year veteran of the Erie County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on October 20, 1989, while serving a warrant at a residence on Kraus Road in the Town of Clarence, near Buffalo, NY. At approximately 1:30 p.m., Deputy Dillemuth and another deputy arrived at the location to serve a warrant on a suspect who had failed to appear in court for narcotics possession.
