On a summer evening in New York City, the life of a dedicated public servant was tragically cut short. Stanley Delano Rhem, a 45-year-old Captain with the New York City Department of Correction, was a man who had dedicated his life to service, both in his nineteen-year career with the department and as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
