On the night of March 13, 2014—bleeding into the early hours of March 14—Sage Chebere, a 20-year-old man, was found shot in the West Farms section of the Bronx. Police responding to the scene came into a residential building on Vyse Avenue near East 181st Street and discovered him on a lower floor with a gunshot wound to his torso, already dead.
