On a September morning in 2014, the life of 34-year-old Damon Page of Englewood, New Jersey, was tragically cut short in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Page, a Black male, was fatally shot in an incident that unfolded in the presence of two plainclothes police officers who were on patrol in the area.

The officers witnessed the shooting and saw the suspect, later identified as 23-year-old Terrell Williams of Brooklyn, attempting to conceal the weapon used in the crime. ...
