In the late hours of a Friday night in Shirley, New York, the life of 23-year-old Jamar Lamar was tragically cut short. On November 21, 2014, shots rang out in the vicinity of a residence on Auborn Avenue, prompting a 911 call to the Suffolk County Police. By the time authorities arrived, Lamar, a male resident of Shirley, had been struck by gunfire.
