On the evening of January 6, 2015, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm in the Flatlands neighborhood of Brooklyn, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Paul Parkes, a 21-year-old male, was struck in the torso by a bullet at the intersection of Avenue J and E. 57th Street. The shooting occurred at approximately 7:33 p.m., a time when the city was still bustling with the energy of a Tuesday evening.
