On a summer evening in Hempstead, New York, the life of 30-year-old Gerraud Hill of Malverne was cut short by an act of violence. On Friday, July 3, 2015, at approximately 10:54 p.m., Hill was shot at least once in front of a residence on Chase Street. Despite his injuries, Hill managed to get into his Chevrolet Traverse and drive away from the scene.
