In the summer of 2015, the life of 34-year-old Hispanic man Eli Samuel Morales-Pizarro was cut short by gunfire in Syracuse, New York. On the evening of Thursday, July 30th, police responded to a call on the city's Near West Side. When they arrived, they found Morales-Pizarro with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was rushed to Upstate University Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries.
