In the early hours of a Saturday in Medford, New York, the lives of two men were tragically cut short. Just before 1 a.m. on December 23, 2017, 29-year-old Joshua Young of Coram and his friend, Cristino Gomez II, also 29, of Medford, were shot in front of a residence at 3102 Falcon Avenue.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and both men were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue. Despite medical efforts, both Young and Gomez were pronounced ...
