In the late spring of 2018, the life of 19-year-old Demonety Davis was cut short by an act of gun violence in Buffalo, New York. On May 27, 2018, the young man, who was a student at East High School and known for his passion for cooking, was fatally shot. His death was a profound loss to his family and friends, who remembered him fondly.
