In the autumn of 2018, the life of 27-year-old Ryan Thurnherr was tragically cut short in Buffalo, New York. Walker, also known as 'Slim.' Walker was a key figure in a significant heroin and cocaine trafficking organization that had been operating in the Buffalo area since at least 2012. Authorities determined that Walker believed Thurnherr was a potential witness, or was at risk of becoming one, in an ongoing Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into his widespread drug-trafficking activities. The murder was a calculated act to silence a perceived threat and protect his criminal enterprise.
The subsequent investigation by the DEA and local law enforcement agencies exposed the vast scale of Walker's operation, which was responsible for the daily distribution of large quantities of narcotics, including heroin often dangerously mixed with substances like fentanyl.
