Daniel Smith, a 32-year-old resident of Roosevelt, New York, tragically lost his life on the night of May 30, 2021, in West Babylon. Smith was sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car on Schenectady Avenue, just south of Essex Street, when he was struck by multiple gunshots fired from outside the vehicle at approximately 11:15 p.m. The shooter fled the scene before police arrived.
