A quiet street in West Babylon became the scene of a deadly shooting on the night of May 30, 2021. Daniel Smith, a 32-year-old male from Roosevelt, was sitting in the driver's seat of his parked car on Schenectady Avenue when he was ambushed. Shortly after 11:00 PM, an unknown assailant fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle, striking Smith.
