On a Tuesday night in the Bronx, 25-year-old Jahwan Joseph was driving his gray Acura sedan with Georgia plates along the southbound lanes of the Bronx River Parkway. It was around 9 p.m. on January 25, 2022, when a multi-car crash was reported near East 177th Street. When police and emergency services arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Joseph inside his vehicle, unresponsive. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his torso.
