Christopher Nicholson, a 25-year-old police officer from Smithsburg, Maryland, tragically lost his life on December 19, 2007. Officer Nicholson was responding to a call for assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office regarding a domestic disturbance where a man had reportedly murdered his girlfriend.
