On December 4, 2009, the quiet neighborhood of New Carrollton, Maryland, was shaken by the tragic death of Alexis Peña Cuevas. Early that morning, residents were startled by the sound of gunshots. When officers arrived at the intersection of Inlet Street and Jodie, they discovered the body of Alexis Peña Cuevas in a front yard. The 30-year-old had been shot multiple times. Cuevas did not reside in the neighborhood where his body was found, adding to the mystery surrounding his death.
