Aaliyah Boyer, a 10-year-old girl from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, tragically lost her life on January 1, 2013, while visiting family in Elkton, Maryland. The incident occurred just after midnight on New Year's Eve when Aaliyah was outside watching fireworks with her relatives. Unbeknownst to her family, a stray bullet struck Aaliyah in the head, causing her to collapse. The family initially thought she had fainted, but paramedics later discovered the bullet wound.
