In the West Baltimore neighborhood of Cedonia, an ongoing feud between two men tragically culminated in the death of Keenan Dixon. On the evening of September 18th, police were called to an alley in the 5800 block of Waycross Road where they discovered a large crowd gathered around Dixon, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
He was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries less than an hour later.
Investigations revealed a history of animosity between Dixon and another man, Rickey 'Hots' Davis. According to witness accounts, the final confrontation began when Dixon rode up on his bicycle and challenged Davis to a fight. The verbal altercation quickly escalated into a physical one. In the midst of the struggle, Davis pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired at Dixon five times, striking him in the head, chest, and forearm.
Following the shooting, Davis fled the scene and eventually made his way to North Carolina. However, law enforcement officials were able to track him down and he was subsequently arrested. After being returned to Baltimore, Davis faced legal proceedings for his role in Dixon's death. A jury ultimately convicted him of manslaughter and possession of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence. For these crimes, Rickey Davis faced a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
