James L. Ward, a 42-year-old Baltimore County police officer, died on August 29, 2016, in Bel Air, Maryland. His death followed a barricade situation at his home on Stratton Court. Deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a suicidal subject at 1:34 a.m. Upon arrival, they attempted to make contact with Ward but were unsuccessful.
