On a late December evening in 2016, the life of 44-year-old Khalil Wiggins was cut short in what should have been the safety of his own home in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Known in the music world as the rapper Big Lyl, Mr. Wiggins was a man with a past in the music industry and a heart for his community, where he was known to mentor local youth in music and production.
