In the late summer of 2017, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, named Carlos Jones, a 27-year-old Black male, became a victim of the city's ongoing gun violence. On the evening of August 28th, tragedy struck at the intersection of South Highland Avenue and Mount Pleasant Avenue in the Southeast district of Baltimore. It was there that Jones was shot, sustaining critical injuries that would ultimately prove fatal.
