A wave of violence swept through Baltimore on the night of October 5, 2017, leaving a trail of bloodshed that claimed the life of 19-year-old Malik Michael Perry. The young man was one of seven people shot in a series of shootings that plagued the city that Thursday evening.
Just after 9 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Pitcher Street, where they discovered two 19-year-old men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Tragically, Malik Michael Perry succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The shooting that ended Perry's life was part of a larger outbreak of gun violence across Baltimore that night. Within a short period, more gunshots rang out in other parts of the city, including the 3400 block of Chesterfield Avenue and the 3700 block of Brehms Lane, leaving several other individuals wounded.
