On the evening of February 17, 2018, Brandon Andrew Briscoe, a 24-year-old male, was fatally shot in Waldorf, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 8:54 p.m. in the 12100 block of Ell Lane. Briscoe was standing outside an apartment building when an unknown assailant approached him. The suspect fired multiple shots, striking Briscoe in the upper body, and then fled the scene on foot.
Emergency responders arrived to find Briscoe suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Detectives with the Charles County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigations Division promptly began an investigation into the homicide.
Despite the ongoing investigation, the case of Brandon Briscoe's murder remains unsolved. As of early 2024, no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the shooting. The case is now considered a cold case, and law enforcement officials continue to appeal to the public for any information that may lead to a breakthrough. To encourage potential witnesses to come forward, Charles County Crime Solvers, in conjunction with the Charles County Sheriff's Office, is offering a combined reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in the case. Authorities have emphasized that individuals with information can remain anonymous by contacting the tip line.
