In the spring of 2018, the life of 26-year-old Deon Garner was tragically cut short on the streets of West Baltimore. On the evening of March 19th, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Westwood and Moreland Avenues. Upon their arrival, they discovered Garner suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was a male resident of the 5100 block of Nelson Ave.
in Northwest Baltimore.
Emergency services transported Garner to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. His death marked the 51st homicide in Baltimore that year. Remembered by his family as a loving man who always had a smile on his face, Garner was a father to a young daughter. Those who knew him described him as the 'nicest person' who was always making people laugh and would not bother anyone.
The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the fatal shooting of Deon Garner. To date, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the case, and no arrests have been made.
