In the summer of 2018, a 37-year-old Black male named Raynard Darrius Pratt lost his life in Baltimore, Maryland. His death on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, was the result of a gunshot wound to the torso. The shooting occurred during a particularly violent weekend in the city, which tragically coincided with a Baltimore Ceasefire weekend, an event aimed at promoting peace and reducing gun violence.
