In the summer of 2019, the life of 20-year-old Kenyon Condrey, a Black male, was cut short in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a young man who, according to his family, was focused on improving his life. He had recently earned his driver's license and secured a new job at a package delivery warehouse, with aspirations of obtaining a commercial driver's license like his father. On the morning of July 1, 2019, he vanished.
His mother, finding his personal belongings left behind and the front door ajar, reported him missing, sparking an urgent search.
For days, his family, alongside Baltimore City Police and the FBI, tirelessly searched for him, distributing flyers and calling out his name in the hope of bringing him home safely. Their search came to a devastating end on July 4th. A citizen discovered a body in a state of decomposition in the 4800 block of Tamarind Road, not far from the Condrey family home and a Baltimore Police station. The remains were soon identified as those of Kenyon Condrey.
The discovery shifted the case from a missing person investigation to a homicide. An autopsy revealed that Condrey had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. His family believes he may have been lured from his home by someone he knew and trusted. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance from his house suggested he left willingly and without his usual possessions.
Despite the ongoing investigation by homicide detectives, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder. The Baltimore Police Department continues to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. Kenyon Condrey's family continues to grieve, holding onto the hope that one day they will have answers and that those responsible for his death will be brought to justice.
