In the fall of 2018, a quiet home in Sharpsburg, Maryland, became the scene of a heart-wrenching discovery. On the afternoon of October 17th, a family member entered a residence on Harpers Ferry Road to find the lifeless bodies of 21-year-old Rhiannon Leah Trump Passmore, a White female, and her 24-year-old husband, Tyler Matthew Passmore. The Washington County Sheriff's Office was immediately dispatched to the scene, arriving at approximately 5:13 PM.
Upon their arrival, deputies
confirmed the tragic finding. Both Rhiannon and Tyler had sustained apparent gunshot wounds to the head. The initial investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths quickly pointed towards a murder-suicide. Authorities believed that Tyler Passmore fatally shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself. The bodies of the young couple were subsequently transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for autopsies to officially determine the cause and manner of their deaths.
Rhiannon, who was born in State College, Pennsylvania, had built a life centered on caring for others, working as a nurse aide for local families. She was known for her love of animals and the outdoors, often enjoying kayaking and spending time with her loved ones. She had spent most of her life in Osceola Mills and Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, before moving to Sharpsburg.
The investigation conducted by the Washington County Sheriff's Office concluded that the incident was an apparent murder-suicide. As a result, there were no further arrests made or additional suspects sought in connection with the deaths of Rhiannon and Tyler Passmore. The case was closed, leaving a community to mourn the loss of a young woman described as a beautiful person gone too soon.
