Jawan Armstrong, a 33-year-old Black man, was killed on March 14, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland, after gunfire erupted along Edmondson Avenue in West Baltimore.
That night, officers already in the area heard shots and moved toward the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue, where they found him suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite the effort to save him, he was pronounced dead from his injuries, turning an instant of violence into a homicide
investigation.
In the aftermath, police identified Armstrong as the victim and tied him to the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road. Detectives appealed for help from anyone who may have seen what happened, heard the shots, or noticed something out of place in the moments before the attack—any car lingering too long, any argument that escalated, any figure moving quickly away from the scene.
