On the night of August 19, 2019, in Middle River, Maryland, 44-year-old Curtis Jerome McKisset was fatally shot at a residence on Shagbark Road. The events leading to his death began when Deontae Maurice Banks, then 22 years old, visited the home to meet a woman.

While at the residence, Banks allegedly stole money from and sexually assaulted the woman. An argument subsequently broke out between Banks and McKisset. The confrontation escalated, culminating in Banks pulling out a handgun and ...
