In the quiet community of Catonsville, Maryland, the life of Arnold Gilbert Burr II, a 29-year-old male, was abruptly ended on the evening of January 15, 2020, just hours before he would have celebrated his 30th birthday. Burr, a father of two who worked in construction, was found by Baltimore County Police officers suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body in the 100 block of South Belle Grove Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide revealed that Burr had traveled to the location with an acquaintance. Upon their arrival, they met with a man at the entrance of an apartment building. A confrontation quickly escalated into a physical scuffle, during which Burr was fatally shot. The individuals responsible for the shooting fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The tragic event left his family grappling with a profound loss, with his father discovering a cryptic letter from his son expressing a wish to be cremated should anything happen to him.
In the months that followed, investigators identified and apprehended two suspects in connection with the murder. Trystan Eevon Wilson, 19 years old at the time, was the first to be arrested. Subsequently, 23-year-old Darien Bartholomew Dixon was also taken into custody. Both men were charged with first-degree murder for their alleged roles in the death of Arnold Gilbert Burr II. Following their arrests, both Wilson and Dixon were held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
