Shereese Desiree Curbeam, a 36-year-old female, tragically lost her life on April 10, 2020, in a hotel room in Waldorf, Maryland. Her death was the result of a violent encounter that unfolded at the Hilton Garden Inn, where she was found deceased from gunshot wounds. The incident was later determined by law enforcement to be a murder-suicide.
Investigations revealed that Curbeam was the victim of Daniel Clark, a 47-year-old man from Indianapolis.
The Charles County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the situation after receiving a tip from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Upon their arrival at the hotel, they discovered the bodies of both Curbeam and Clark. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Further inquiries into Clark's background uncovered a grim connection to another homicide. It was discovered that before traveling to Waldorf, Clark had killed another woman in his apartment in Indianapolis. The motive for these violent acts remains unclear. As the sole suspect in Curbeam's murder took his own life, the case did not lead to any arrests or further legal proceedings.
Shereese was remembered by her loved ones as a loving mother, daughter, and sister. Due to pandemic restrictions at the time, her funeral services were limited to close family, with a webcast made available for others to pay their respects.
