On a cold December evening in Baltimore, the life of 36-year-old Sherril Armstead was tragically cut short. She was a Black female who found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time on December 21, 2020. In the 1200 block of West Pratt Street, an act of violence unfolded that would leave two families grieving and a community searching for answers. Sherril, along with 41-year-old Natalie Wright, was shot and killed in what police have described as a double homicide.
The two women were reportedly inside a vehicle when the fatal shots were fired.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Baltimore Police Department launched an investigation, seeking to bring justice for Sherril and Natalie. Investigators released surveillance images of a person of interest, a man with a medium build who was dressed in a black Orioles ball cap, a black 'Polo' zip-up hoodie, black jeans, and boots. This individual was believed to be armed with a handgun. In an effort to gather more information, a reward of up to $4,000 was offered for any tips that would lead to an arrest and charges in the case.
Despite the public appeals for information and the release of the suspect's description, the case has remained unsolved. There have been no reports of any arrests made in connection with the murders of Sherril Armstead and Natalie Wright. The investigation into their deaths continues, leaving their loved ones and the community awaiting a resolution to this senseless act of violence.
