On April 11, 2021, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Baltimore Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 4800 block of Bayonne Avenue to investigate a possible suicide. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Shamyar Austin unresponsive. Medics were summoned to the scene and pronounced Austin dead. Initial observations suggested multiple gunshot wounds, prompting homicide detectives to take over the investigation.
