In the early morning hours of a summer day in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 31-year-old Dennis Lee Holland was tragically cut short. On July 28, 2013, a Louisville Metro Police officer was flagged down around 3:30 a.m. by an individual who had discovered a body in an alleyway. The grim finding was located behind a Valero gas station at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Central Avenue, not far from the historic Churchill Downs.
