In the quiet community of Orangeburg, South Carolina, the life of 29-year-old Jermaine Holloway was tragically cut short on a summer night in 2014. On August 17th, Holloway was a passenger in a friend's vehicle after they had visited an acquaintance on Belleville Road. As they were leaving, a man emerged and opened fire on their car, striking Holloway.
His friend rushed him to the Regional Medical Center, but he succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound.
The ensuing investigation quickly identified a suspect: 36-year-old Shagura Ramon Mack. Law enforcement officials publicly named Mack as the individual wanted in connection with Holloway's death, and he subsequently turned himself in to the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office. He was formally charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Despite the initial arrest and charges, the path to justice for Jermaine Holloway has been a long and winding one. Shockingly, while awaiting trial for Holloway's murder, Mack was released on bond. The case took another dark turn in November 2025, when the same Shagura Mack, now 47 years old, was arrested and charged with the murder of another individual in Orangeburg.
