Do you know who murdered Clifford Wright? On a cold Friday night in the Algonquin neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, tragedy befell 62-year-old Clifford Wright. His life was cut short when he was fatally shot multiple times in an empty lot situated at the corner of 28th and Dixdale Avenue. Wright, a Black male, was discovered with gunshot wounds to his torso and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:43 p.m.
on February 5, 2016.
Residents in the vicinity reported hearing the sound of approximately five gunshots piercing the night air. The vacant lot where Mr. Wright was found was known to be a common shortcut for people in the neighborhood heading to nearby stores. While it remains unclear why he was in that specific area at that time, it is believed he was returning from a store when he was robbed and then tragically gunned down.
In the wake of this violent act, the Louisville Metro Police Department launched a homicide investigation. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Clifford Wright, and the case remains an open homicide investigation. His family and friends gathered for a vigil to remember him and to plead for answers in his unsolved killing. Authorities have continued to ask for anyone with information regarding the case to come forward as the search for suspects continues.
