In the early morning hours of September 14, 2015, the life of 19-year-old Kristen Jetel Rekeem Williams of Conway, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded at University Village at the Coast, an off-campus student housing complex near Myrtle Beach. Police were initially called to the scene around 4 a.m. for a reported assault. Upon their arrival, they discovered Williams unresponsive on the ground, bleeding from his head.
