Kristen Jetel Rekeem Williams, a 19-year-old from Conway, South Carolina, was pronounced dead on September 14, 2015, at University Village at the Coast, an off-campus housing complex for students at Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College. The initial reports indicated that Williams had fallen from a balcony, leading to his death. However, further investigation revealed that he had been shot in the head.
