Timothy Buckley, a 51-year-old former police officer and town councilman from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was found dead on November 10, 2016. His body was discovered in a wooded area off Rodeo Drive in Carolina Forest, near the Tanger Outlets. Buckley had been reported missing since September 29, 2016, when he was last seen near the Springmaid Resort. The Horry County Coroner confirmed his identity through dental records and jewelry.
