John P. Katsilieris, a 17-year-old male, disappeared after departing from his family's home in Oak Park, Illinois, in August 1985. When he left, he took five of his guitars with him, leading to speculation that he was traveling to California to pursue a career in music. He was 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed between 140 and 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may have had a mustache, beard, or goatee.
