On a winter evening in Rock Hill, South Carolina, the life of 18-year-old Mekhi Rawlison was cut short in a burst of violence. The young man, a resident of nearby York, was fatally wounded in a shooting on January 18, 2017. He was rushed to Piedmont Medical Center by a private vehicle but succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
