In the early evening of May 19, 2017, in Columbia, South Carolina, 19-year-old Christopher LaDarren Simmons Jr. was fatally shot. The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of Lorick Avenue. According to the Richland County Coroner, Simmons died from multiple gunshot wounds.
